MilePost

Mile Post

The Old Laleston Parish Mile Post is situated opposite the Great house in High Street against the wall of No 17 and is Grade II listed by Cadw. One of a series of cast-iron mileposts erected in the 1830s for the Bridgend Turnpike Trust, with a mixture of Gothic and Classical detail. The road was first turnpiked in 1764.  Below is another in Newcastle Parish.
