Signage in the garden and on Blandy Hall

Blandy Hall as it is today after extensive modernization and made home to the Laleston Community Council.
Below as it was in the mid 1900's occupied as a dwelling by the Powell family until around 1978, at that time the building was not on mains water, it had a large tank in the loft space that gathered rain water which had to be boiled on the open range beside the fire before it could be used.

An old view above which was a residence until 1978, of what is now the Blandy Hall.

The car in the garden of what is now Blandy Hall grounds around 1950's when the Powell family were in residence, many more trees in the garden then, and as the picture shows there are no  games rectangles.

The preserved frames are play areas for the games of Boules, a French game, in which the objective is to throw or roll heavy balls (called boules in France, and bocce in Italy) as close as possible to a small target ball, called the jack in English. Boules games are often played in open spaces (town squares and parks) in villages and towns. Dedicated playing areas for boules-type games are typically large, level, rectangular courts made of flattened earth, gravel, or crushed stone.

These frames were not visible during the time of residency, these were introduced around the 1980's., The Smaller is the junior area the larger the adults.
